EAF transformer is developed based on the special requirements of power during the process of the electric furnace steel-making. It mainly used for high-quality steel smelting and alloy steel, aluminum fire-resistant fiber.
EAF transformer has the features of both common transformer and meets the needs of the special requirements of smelting steel, that is, high withstanding ability of over-load and short-circuit and the high mechanical property. The regulation way of EAF transformer is divided into OLTC and non-excited way. The OLTC EAF transformer does not have the connection reactor. The structure of the non-excited EAF transformer is divided into the connectional reactor and the non-connectional reactor. Both of the two structures can change the impedance under the highest secondary voltage, the former depends on the input and removal of the reactor and the latter depends on the change of high voltage winding of itself.
